Clement Sabbagh of Brazil to Take Over as New President of ICA

The Board of Directors of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA), at a meeting held during the recently concluded Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, unanimously elected Clement Sabbagh of Ben Sabbagh Bros., Brazil, as their new incoming president. 

“Outgoing president Benjamin Hackman of Intercolor, New York, USA, will transition the presidency at the biennial ICA Congress in Jaipur, India, this October 21-24, with newly elected Directors being installed at that time as well,” the association announced yesterday.

A long time member of the ICA, Sabbagh has been with the Association since 1997. He has served as Brazil's Ambassador, as a voting Director, and has worked on numerous committees. For the past two years he has been Advisor to the Board and Chair of the Congress Committee. 

Clement and his brother Samuel, both GIA Graduate Gemologists, are second generation owners of Ben Sabbagh Brothers, which straddles various areas of the coloured gemstone business:  mining, cutting, and supplying numerous varieties of fine quality coloured gems.
