Dominion Diamonds Receives Spate of Investments in Recent Times

Dominion Diamond Corporation received a spate of investments as   several investors either took  or increased their positions in the Company, say media reports based on filings before the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).  

Schroder Investment Management Group purchased 47,700 shares in the third quarter thus taking its total holding in Dominion  to 960,596 shares.  At the end of the latest quarter, the investment firm held about 1.13% of Dominion stock valued at US$ 12.248 million, it is reported.

Legal & General Group Plc also improved its position and currently holds 16,848 shares of  Dominion  stock worth US$ 148,000; it had purchased an additional 8,568 shares   in the second quarter – representing an increase of 103.5%.  

New entrants into the Company included Intrepid Capital Management Inc., Stanley Laman Group Ltd, Paloma Partners Management Co, Sterling Capital Management LLC and AHL Partners LLP.

Of these, Intrepid Capital Management Inc. made  by far the largest investment: the institutional investor acquired 519,485 shares of the Dominion stock, worth approximately US$ 5.060 million.  This investmet was made during the third quarter.

Stanley Laman Group Ltd. acquired shares valued at US$  111,000 in the third quarter;   Paloma Partners Management Co purchased  shares worth US$ 109,000 in  the second quarter; Sterling Capital Management LLC also bought into the Company during the second quarter with its purchase of shares worth $118,000; and AHL Partners LLP,   making its acquisition in the second quarter too, bought stock amounting to US$174,000.

Of Dominion’s total   shareholding, 41.87% of the stock is presently  owned by hedge funds and other institutional investors, it was reported.
