DPA Appoints Deborah Marquardt as Marketing Chief on Eve of ‘Real Is Rare’ Roll-Out

The Diamond Producers Association (DPA) recently announced the appointment of Deborah Marquardt as the organisation’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Marquardt, who will be reporting to DPA CEO Jean-Marc Lieberherr, comes to the organisation from her previous stint as Vice President and General Manager of Time Inc.’s Style Network. She was earlier with L’Oreal USA with assignments in the marketing and communications fields.

Her appointment comes on the eve of the consumer launch of DPA’s much awaited generic promotional campaign – unveiled to the trade at the JCK, Vegas Show this year and announced for a fall roll-out.

Marquardt is a much-awarded professional and her profile says she has “a unique background combining brand management, digital product, media/publishing and integrated marketing for global companies like L'Oreal, P&G, Time Inc., Microsoft, Publicis and PricewaterhouseCoopers”.  Further, her profile describes her as a “Brand-builder known for innovative, cross-platform, multichannel strategies and partnerships that leverage data, consumer insights and trending culture”.

“The addition of Deborah strengthens our leadership team at a pivotal time for the DPA,” commented Lieberherr. “Her deep expertise in integrated, content-driven programmes aimed at millennials, as well as cross-platform and social media, is critical to spearheading the launch of ‘Real is Rare,’ the DPA’s new category marketing platform.”

Marquardt said: “Diamonds are a singular category. Joining the industry and introducing ‘Real is Rare,’ the idea that diamonds have the power to celebrate and represent rare, precious, and real moments and relationships, is an incredible opportunity.”
