GIA will be conducting its seven week Graduate Diamonds (GD) Diploma program in Bengaluru from June 16, the organisation said in a press note today. The city is a major consumer market for gems and jewellery and home to many well-known jewellery brands.

The course will be conducted by experienced instructors and wwill benefit professionals and aspiring professionals from in and around Bengaluru, giving them easy access to world-class gemmology education.

The students will also learn the use of gemmological instruments to grade and identify diamonds; how to detect synthetics, treatments, simulants and fracture-filled diamonds; and how to confidently speak the language of diamonds to suppliers, vendors and customers.

Additionally, there will be regular market visits to manufacturing facilities and retail houses to gain an understanding of day-to-day business.

Similar programmes havve been held in other cities across India, including Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Mumbai, etc. GIA has also held regular corporate seminars on jewellery-related topics in over 60 cities in India.
