GIA to Hold Next Career Fair in New York on July 25th

GIA announced that it will once again be organising its Jewelry Career Fair in New York City on Monday, July 25.

“Dozens of gem and jewellery companies will be looking to hire skilled and motivated professionals at every career stage,” GIA said. “The free event is expected to draw crowds similar to last year’s event in New York, which attracted recruiters from 48 companies and more than 600 job seekers.”

The Jewelry Career Fair is designed as a recruiting and education event and is open to the public free of charge. It will take place at the Javits Center from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also included are one-on-one career coaching opportunities with some of the industry’s brightest names, GIA said.

An opening panel discussion has been scheduled on the topic “Job Success in Today’s Market”. This will be moderated by  Susan Jacques, President and CEO of GIA, and the panel will include industry leaders Rahul Kadakia, International Head of Jewelry for Christie’s; Steven Lagos, Founder and Chief Creative Director for LAGOS; Natalie Tjaden of Jewelry Television; and Yancy Weinrich, Senior Vice President of JCK.
