GJC Holding its Preferred Manufacturer of India Meet in Goa from June 12-14, 2018

The All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC) is currently holding its Preferred Manufacturer of India (PMI) Meet in Goa. The event started yesterday, June 12th and will conclude tomorrow, June 14th.

The PMI is an exclusive B2B exhibition which facilitates retailers from various regions in the country to   conduct business with the leading jewellery manufacturers.

Forty-three  prominent jewellery manufacturers and 150 leading retailers have gathered together  at  Goa for a   business convention.

The PMI was  inaugurated by Shri Vijai Sardesai, Hon’ble Minister for Town and Country Planning, Agriculture, Factories & Boilers, Government of Goa.

Complimenting  the efforts of  the GJC for organising the grand networking event in Goa, Hon’ble Minister, Shri Vijai Sardesai  said at the inauguration: “I am happy that GJC is organising its premier show Preferred Manufacturer of India (PMI) in Goa and bringing the top jewellers of the country to our state. I also appreciate the way it is being organised by GJC where there is focused business with all the elements of leisure; and I feel that Goa is an ideal destination to host events like PMI. I wish all the very best for all the participants and appreciate Shri  Nitin Khandelwal, Chairman-GJC and Shri Sumeet Anand, Convenor PMI, for choosing Goa for this premium event.”

The   Minister   also welcomed the idea of GJC for setting up   skill development units in Goa for skilling the local people as jewellery artisans which he said would really help the   people of the state to empower themselves and also help the state to become a jewellery manufacturing hub.

Nitin Khandelwal, Chairman GJC, commented: “GJC being the apex body of gems & jewellery in India undertakes various initiatives and programmes that are aimed at improving industry business practices, promoting compliance, standardisation and transparency, promoting professionalism for the growth and development of the industry sector.  GJC also initiates various promotional activities to further the retail businesses as well as manufacturing segments through various dedicated platforms. PMI is such an initiative where we are providing a luxury podium for the manufacturers and retailers for focused business.  Today, PMI is known for its commitment  towards providing a fine platform where the buyers and sellers get maximum time to understand each other.  I think there is a need to evolve PMI as a model for doing business through exhibition as it beats all odds and builds stronger bond amongst the buyer and seller.”

Sumeet Anand, Convenor, PMI and Director, GJC opined that in a volatile market, there is a need for game changers and PMI is the game changer for the gems and jewellery Industry. “This event is known for giving fresh air to business and trade and with every new edition we are evolving, innovating and learning from our past experiences,” he said.  “As the name suggests, PMI is for preferred people of the industry and we are committed to remain focussed on our objectives and goals. That could be the reason why we are very particular with the selection process of the retailers and only those are invited to this exclusive shows who are hand-picked to ensure best matching of seller profiles. Networking for business is the new-age mantra for successful enterprises and PMI offers manufacturers a dedicated platform that facilitates better relationship building with the country’s most prominent jewellery retailers.”

Apart from the  business experience, PMI event also offers  leisure and networking opportunities to its participants.

From the jewellery retailer’s perspective, GJC stressed, PMI is an opportunity that offers the best jewellery brands from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a single platform with product categories ranging from antique gold jewellery to  mass produced jewellery; as well as  jadau and polki, diamond jewellery and much more.
