GJEPC Coordinates with Government, Air India to Ensure Resumption of Export Parcels from Jaipur

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council proactively coordinated with the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation and authorities of Air India and Jaipur Customs to ensure speedy resumption in the dispatch of export parcels from Jaipur airport, bringing some relief to exporters of coloured gemstones and jewellery.

These operations, which had been affected for the last couple of weeks due to the sudden suspension of services of Jet Airways, which was earlier carrying all export and import cargo from Jaipur, commenced yesterday with Air India shipping the first export parcel under the supervision of its Station Manager Sujit Kumar.

The parcels are being routed through centres such as Delhi, Mumbai etc. for onward dispatch to international markets.

At present imports have not started as Air India is awaiting some clearances from its foreign counterpart airlines. These are likely to be received in the next couple of days, and it is expected that Air India will shortly commence operations for imports also.
