The Surat regional office of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) hosted a seminar for jewellers in Ahmedabad last week on Labour Law, Export Gold and Bank Finance. The event was part of the educational series, "The Colloquium” being oragnised across the region.

Speakers at the seminar included Shri Sohail Sawani, Proprietor, Sohail & Co., Surat; Shri M G. Balkwade, DGM, MMTC, Ahmedabad and Shri Manish Sheth, AGM, Rajkot Sahakari Nagrik Bank, Rajkot.

Shri Balkwade explained the different schemes offered by MMTC to procure gold supply for export of jewellery.

Shri Sawani encouraged jewellers to follow all necessary compliances related to Labour Laws and also urged them to seek benefits available under various schemes introduced by the government with regard to Provident Fund (PF) and health insurance under ESIC.

Shri Manish Sheth explained the finance schemes of Rajkot Nagrik Sahkari Bank especially tailored for the G&J industry of Gujarat.

Over 120 jewellers from the city attended the seminar.
