GJEPC Jaipur region yesterday conducted the second seminar in its ongoing “Gurukul – The Knowledge Series” of events, this one focusing on "exploring online retail export opportunities". The event was part of this initiative to develop a member information sharing platform. It was hosted in association with EBay and Flipkart.

Speakers at the seminar discussed the methods and benefits of doing online commerce to reach buyers in international markets. While there are some changes in procedures governing such sales, there are also issues that need to be clarified further, to make the process easier, they said.

The presentations were followed by an interactive session where it was clarified that current regulations only permit reimport of returned goods if they have been sent abroad on consignment basis. However, this is a cumbersome process since all exports are subject to 100% examination when goods are being sent on consignment.
