GJEPC Participates in Sarafa Association Seminar in Jalgaon, Maharashtra; Focuses on Schemes for MSMEs

The Jalgaon Sarafa Association in Maharashtra recently convened a special seminar to discuss various issues related to the jewellery industry. GJEPC assisted in organising the event and its representatives made a special presentation focusing on the various schemes for the development of the MSME sector and how they could be of benefit in developing jewellery for the export markets. The seminar, with Shri Suresh Bamu Bhole (Rajumama) MLA, Jalgaon District as Chief Guest, was held in Brahman Sabha, Jalgaon and was co-hosted by Godrej Security Solutions and M/s Naik Brothers. The team from Godrej spoke about the different security systems and solutions that were available for the industry Later, Mithilesh Pandey of GJEPC provided detailed information about the various initiatives of the Government of India’s MSME ministry and different schemes launched by GJEPC for the development of the industry. He talked about the Parichay Card, the Swasthya Kosh which would provide benefits for those working with the industry and said that the Council had set up a special call center and developed a mobile app to facilitate communication with its members all across the country. The GJEPC presentation also covered different benefits offered by the government to the trade such as interest subvention, Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme, financial assistance from the NSIC for participation in exhibitions in India and abroad and the modern Jewellery Park being set up in Navi Mumbai.  The jewellers were also given information about the upcoming IIJS Signature show. During the discussion that followed, a number of jewellers expressed interest in beginning exports from the district.
