GJSCI and WJA - India Chapter Announce Launch of 'Design Connect', A Platform for Jewellery Designers

The Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI) and Women's Jewelry Association (WJA) - India Chapter have announced the launch of 'Design Connect' – a new platform for jewellery designers to connect and collaborate with jewellery manufacturers and retailers. The event is supported by GIA, GJEPC, GJC and IBJA.

Under this initiative, the two organisations will be holding a day-long programme at Hotel Sahara Star in Mumbai on June 26, 2019 which will comprise a number of different sessions.

The day will begin with a Panel Discussion where leading industry experts will share their ideas on the potential of the G&J sector and the opportunities for a designer to make a career in it. Subsequently, there will be a Recruiting session, where pre-registered companies will interact with designers as well as a Mentoring session, with one-on-one interaction with industry experts.

During the event, winners of GJSCI – ANANT Design Competition will be felicitated. The competition, organised by the GJSCI, was focused on promoting design development, product innovation and diversification of India’s four heritage jewellery art forms Thewa, Gajra, Tarakasi & Hupari Payal.

The last date for Registration for ‘Design Connect’ is May 31, 2019. Details are available on the GJSCI website – www.gjsci.org
