Gemological Science International (GSI) has launched LGX Complete™, a new grading report for lab-grown diamonds that do not have any post-growth treatments or enhancements.

The gemmological organisation says the report is the most comprehensive grading report available on the market today for lab-grown diamonds.

GSI said that the new GSI report will include details of whether the lab-grown diamond was produced by HPHT (High-Pressure High Temperature) or CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) process and if it’s “As Grown,” which is a commonly used term in the industry for lab-grown diamonds that do not have any post-growth treatments or enhancements.

Stressing that as the acceptance of lab-grown diamonds grows among consumers it becomes important to ensure that all relevant information is in place in order to maintain consumer confidence in the industry, GSI said that at present it is “the only major laboratory to issue grading reports for lab-grown diamonds with these disclosures”.
