Hong Kong Fair to Host Over 1,900 Exhibitors Including New Pavilions for Technology and Lab Grown Diamonds

The June Hong Kong Fair which opens at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on June 20 will feature more than 1,900 exhibitors from 40 countries and regions and from a broad cross-section of the industry, the organisers, Informa Markets, announced. This year, among the 21 theme and 18 group pavilions, there will be two dedicated to Technology and Lab-Grown Diamonds, that will be making their debut at the event.

“These two pavilions are destinations in themselves,” says Celine Lau, Director of Jewellery Fairs. “The Technology and Lab-Grown Diamond areas will provide buyers even more convenient access to products and services tailored to their requirements.”

Beyond products, a special feature of the Technology zone will be a tech pod where exhibitors will present industry-related applications, software programmes and devices that can help enterprises grow their businesses and drive operational efficiencies.

Lab-grown diamond producers will mainly showcase loose goods, the statement said.

Another special will be the Australian Pavilion which will bring together companies that specialise in opal. Australia is the world’s biggest supplier of precious opal. On display will be loose opals, from solid black and boulder gems to light opals, as well as fine opal jewellery collections.

Special seminars at the four-day event include sessions by ACODES – the Colombian Association of Emerald Exporters – on emerald trends & standards; by The Japan Pearl Promotion Society on “Latest Updates of Pearl - Recent Trend in 2019”; and others.

Prior to and during the show, there will also be two by-invitation-only events – The Paspaley Auction on June 17 to 19, and the Alrosa Diamond Preview from June 20 to 23.
