JCK Las Vegas and Luxury 2020 Show Organisers Affirm that the Events Will Go Ahead as Scheduled

Reed Exhibitions and the Reed Jewelry Group, the show organisers, have confirmed that the 2020 JCK Las Vegas and Luxury shows will take place as scheduled.

“JCK Las Vegas (June 2–5, with Global Gemstones, the Exchange, and JCK Talks opening June 1) and Luxury (opening May 31) 2020 will take place as scheduled,” a statement from the organisers affirmed.

It added: “At this time of global concern, Reed Exhibitions and Reed Jewelry Group are closely monitoring developments related to the COVID-19 virus. Our hearts go out to everyone impacted. The jewellery industry is a tight-knit community, and the well-being of everyone at our JCK Events—from our attendees and exhibitors to our staff on-site at every show—is of the utmost importance to us.”

The organisers emphasised  that JCK Las Vegas and Luxury are following “the latest guidance from local, state, and national authorities as it relates to travel and participation in our events with the intention of keeping our exhibitors and attendees informed as they finalise plans for 2020”.

The organisers re-iterated their commitment to implementing “up-to-date best practices” in accordance with public health guidance, including those issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “We are working closely with the Sands Expo and the Venetian, who have indicated that their emergency management team is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak at the global, U.S., and local level,” they stressed. “They are closely following the guidance of the CDC and Southern Nevada Health District for local direction.”

The worldwide jewellery industry sees JCK Las Vegas as the definitive show of the gems and jewellery trade fair calendar. It is also a place which offers immense networking possibilities, and where new connections are made. The organisers pointed out that “many rely on the important business relationships made during JCK Las Vegas and Luxury, one of the most anticipated annual jewellery buying experiences”.

However, they also underlined their intention to “continue to be proactive” in order to take any necessary precautions “to facilitate an environment for the entire jewellery community to unite, make meaningful new connections, and discover new products and technology”.

“We will keep you up to date as we get closer to the show, and you can monitor our website for up-to-date information,” the organisers concluded. “The safety of our exhibitors, attendees, and staff is our number one priority.”

Only recently,  two important shows of the gems and jewellery  and watch industries -  Baselworld and Watches & Wonder Geneva (formerly SIHH) – scheduled to commence end April, were cancelled as a result of fears about the  coronavirus.   Earlier, the Hong Kong Show organisers had also announced the postponement of their event.
