Judging for Artisan Awards in ‘Best Product Inventory at Signature IIJS 2019’ Takes Place

The judging and selection of the winners of the Artisan Awards for “Best Product Inventory at Signature IIJS” was held at the venue on February 10, 2019. This is the first time exhibitors have been invited to enter their product inventories at the show in this competition.

The winners in each of the categories were selected by a panel of eminent judges and will be announced along with the winners in the Artisan Awards 2019 jewellery design categories at the exclusive Awards Nite on February 13, 2019, the concluding day of the show.

A panel comprising Chicago-based journalist Smitha Sadanandan, fashion stylist Nisha Jhangiani, Singapore-based jewellery writer Richa Goyal Sikri and Managing Editor of Solitaire International and Adorn Shanoo Bijlani selected the winners.

Speaking about the jewellery that was displayed, Nisha Jhangiani, a member of the judging panel said, “The designs were global, international and trend-based. The mind has to be open to get inspired from various sources. Techniques should be learnt to bridge the gap between thought and reality.”

This part of the competition was open only to exhibitors of Signature IIJS 2019. They were invited to submit two pieces in any of the product categories announced by the organisers. Each exhibiting company was allowed to choose one category and select a maximum of two pieces within it.

The categories were:

  • Daily Wear Diamond Jewellery
  • Couture Diamond Jewellery
  • Gold Jewellery
  • Silver Jewellery
  • Platinum Jewellery
  • Coloured Gemstones Jewellery
  • Kundan Meena Jewellery
  • Pearl Jewellery

The participants were asked to ensure that only wearable pieces, not accessories, were entered, and that the pieces were not studded with synthetics or CZ.
