Jury Round for GJF’s National Jewellery Awards 2017 Concludes

A high profile Jury comprising well known designers and Bollywood stars completed the Jury round of the 7th National Jewellery Awards 2017 organized by All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) in Mumbai yesterday.

The Jury comprised Zeenat Aman, Padmini Kolhapure, Preeti Jhangiani, Shillpi Sharma and fashion designer Falguni (Falguni Shane Peacock).

Anantha Padmanaban, Director - GJF and NJA Committee Convener, said that the panel of experts judged the entries after viewing all the nominations. “Judging was based on the jewellery patterns and designs which are unique and innovative,” he said, adding, “As organisers, GJF is proud to conduct such awards in the gems and jewellery sector, to encourage the enormous potential we have in the industry.”

The convener said that this year the award process had been made more stringent and at the same time simple and friendly for applicants, “with the help of Ernst & Young”, and the applications were accepted online as an effort towards the Digital initiative of the government.

There are a total of 25 awards with 22 being for jewellery, five Excellence awards, five Store based awards, and two Designer awards. There are also Student Awards which are accompanied  by a substantial amount as scholarship. The winners will be announced at the Grand Finale on 28th July, 2017 at Hotel Grand Hyatt, Mumbai in the presence of top jewellers, government officials, industrialists and Bollywood celebrities.
