Kirit Bhansali Elected New Chairman of IIGJ Mumbai; Three Other New Directors Inducted

Kirit Bhansali has recently been elected at the new Chairman of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Mumbai by the newly reconstituted Board of Directors of the Institute. He takes over from Vasant Mehta who had a prolonged tenure at the helm of the Institute. Three new directors, Namita Pandya, Anil Virani and Ashok Gajera were also elected to the Board at the same meeting.

Other directors continuing from the previous Board are Praveenshankar Pandya, presently also Chairman of GJEPC, Vasant Mehta, Dilipkumar Lakhi, Sanjay Kothari, Nirmalkumar Barmecha, Ashish Kothari and Raj Hiten Parikh.

The new Chairman is a partner in Sky Gems & Smital Gems and a committee member of BDB & GJEPC.

 In a statement announcing the appointment, IIGJ noted that outgoing Chairman Vasant Mehta ad played a significant role in creation and overall development of IIGJ Mumbai to its present status where it is now recognised as a center of jewellery education in India & abroad. IIGJ is now collaborating with Mewar University for BA Degree in Jewellery & with the Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research to offer modules in Jewellery Management.
