Lucapa Earns Gross Proceeds of US$ 5.5 Million at First Diamond Sale of 2020

Lucapa Diamond Company Limited and its respective partners announced that the first sales for 2020 of diamonds from the Lulo alluvial mine in Angola and the Mothae kimberlite mine in Lesotho generated combined gross proceeds of US$5.5 million on a 100% basis.

A total of 1,548 carats of Lulo diamonds sold for gross proceeds of US$3.4 million by the Sociedade Mineira Do Lulo, in which Lucapa has a 40% stake and is the operator. This represents an average price per carat of US$2,200, the company said.

A total of 6,306 carats of Mothae diamonds sold at tender for gross proceeds of US$2.1 million by Mothae Diamonds (Pty) Ltd, in which Lucapa has a 70% stake. This represents an average price per carat of US$339, it was reported.
