The Lukfook Group, a leading Chinese jeweller, has recently received twin commendations in Hong Kong even as it announced its expansion into Malaysia, the ninth country in its global operations.

The Group was awarded the ‘Hong Kong Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Merit Award (Enterprise Category)’ in The 7th Hong Kong Corporate Citizenship Award Scheme by the Hong Kong Productivity Council at an event yesterday. The awards are co-organized by the Committee of the Promotion of Civic Education, which aims to raise public awareness towards corporate citizenship, integrate it into operational strategies and management measures, and ultimately promote sustainability of economy, society and environment.

Separately, the Group also announced that it has successfully passed the audit of the ‘Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme’ co-organised by the Environment Bureau of Hong Kong, the Economic & Information Commission of Guangdong Province and major trade and industry associations in Hong Kong. It’s subsidiary Maxigood (Guangzhou) Jewellery Company Limited was commended as ‘Hong Kong – Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners (Manufacturing)’ once again, in recognition of its contribution to environmental protection.

Earlier this month, the Group entered the Malaysian market with the grand opening of two new Lukfook Jewellery retail shops located at Pavilion Elite and Suria KLCC respectively. The Group hosted a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony on 21 December with guests including Ms. Kristal Tin, winner of TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actress and Most Popular Actress, Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Henry Yip Choong Hung, Vice President of Hong Kong – Malaysia Business Association, and Ms. Shirley Wong, Executive Director and Deputy General Manager of the Group. With this, the Group’s global retail network now spreads across nine countries and regions with 1,470 PoS.
