Patrick Evans Steps Down as CEO of Dominion Diamond

According to media reports, Patrick Evans, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dominion Diamond Mines (earlier Dominion Diamond Corporation), has stepped down from his position as of December 5, 2018.

Shane Durgin, formerly Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Dominion took over as CEO effective December 7, 2018.

It will be remembered that the Company was acquired, not so long ago, by the Washington   Companies.

While no official statement has been put out by the Company, one media report said the departure has been confirmed by Evans to them. However, no further information was available as to the reasons behind the move. Reports also points out that this is the fourth departure of a senior executive from Dominion in a period of a year, since the takeover.

Evans, formerly the CEO of Mountain Province Diamonds, was appointed Dominion Diamond’s CEO in November 2017, after the new owners came into place.

Dominion Diamond has stakes in the Ekati (controlling interest and operator) and Diavik (40%) mines in Canada’s Northwest Territories.
