The Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) has joined forces with the JNA Awards to promote best practices in the international jewellery and gemstone industry, the two organisations said in a release on June 8.

While the Awards programme recognises, celebrates and encourages excellence and innovation in the global jewellery trade, RJC is the jewellery industry’s foremost standards setting and certification body.

The organisations said they have a shared vision for the industry, and will boost efforts to promote best-in-class, sustainable and ethical business practices globally. Through introducing an impactful platform like the JNA Awards to its members, RJC will be able to reach a greater number of organisations, sharing their achievements to date, success stories, and inspiring others to ensure responsibility is at the forefront of their operations.

Letitia Chow, Chairperson of the JNA Awards, Founder of JNA, and Director of Business Development – Jewellery Group at UBM Asia, said, “RJC has been a global pioneer in safeguarding and standardising best business practices in the jewellery industry. JNA Awards 2018 is supported by Headline Partners Chow Tai Fook (CTF), the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE), and the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) together with Honoured Partners KGK Group, Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange, and Guangdong Land Holdings Limited (GDLAND).

The Honourees or shortlisted entrants will be announced on 21 June 2018 at the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair and will culminate in a glittering awards ceremony in Hong Kong, on 16 September.
