Signet Announces Retirement of Two Industry Veterans

Signet Jewelers Limited announced the retirement of two industry veterans Stuart Lee and Clark McEwen, who have been senior executives with the company. While Stuart Lee was Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer, Clark McEwen was Senior Vice President of Signet Direct Diamond Sourcing.

The Company said that Lee and McEwen have “demonstrated industry leadership with integrity in a number of areas, ranging from developing branded diamond and jewelry programs, to helping ensure consumer confidence in the products we sell”.

Stuart Lee began his career at Signet as a Director of Gold in the Merchandising department in August 1996 and went on to become the Director of Jared Merchandising & Corporate Watches, where he helped grow the Jared® The Galleria of Jewelry store brand by introducing new jewellery lines like LeVian® which became one of the largest volume brands within Signet stores and The Leo® branded diamond. Shortly after, he was promoted to Vice President of Corporate Merchandising and in April 2012, was promoted to Senior Vice President of Merchandising & General Manager. In July of 2015, Lee became Executive Vice President of Merchandising.

Clark McEwen began his career with Signet in 2011 and spent 32 years in the diamond industry. Clark is considered one of the world's preeminent experts in the global diamond supply chain. Prior to joining Signet, McEwen has served as Global Marketing Manager for Rio Tinto Diamonds, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Marketing for The Gemesis Corporation, Manager of CanadaMark for BHP Billiton, Managing Director at Triton Trading BVBA, Vice President of Purchasing at TDS Ltd. and Diamond Controller and Director of Loose Diamond Division at Spence Diamonds Ltd.

While at Signet, McEwen was focused on both strategic development and operational execution of the company's pursuit of establishing an efficient and profitable diamond supply chain with regard to the rough procurement and the manufacturing and distribution of polished diamonds.
