Stornoway Appoints Michele S. Darling to Its Board of Directors

Stornoway Diamond Corporation has appointed Michele S. Darling to its Board of Directors.

With global business experience of over three decades, Ms. Darling’s particular area of expertise has been in Human Resources Management and Corporate Governance.

She has earlier served as Executive Vice President, Human Resources at CIBC from 1991 to 1996; and as Executive Vice President, Corporate Governance with Prudential Financial, Inc. from 1996 to 2002. After that, she set up an independent management consulting practice, Michele Darling and Associates Inc.

She is currently also on the boards of directors of several other companies. These include Nickel Creek Platinum Corp., the Denihan Hospitality Group (New York) and Trillium Health Partners.

“Ms. Darling joins the Stornoway board of directors as a nominee of Orion Mine Finance,” the Corporation announced. “In this capacity she replaces Mr. Doug Silver, who joined the board in 2014 and served through the construction and commissioning phases of the Renard Diamond Mine.”

EbeScherkus, the chairman of the Board of Directors of Stornoway, stated: “On behalf of my fellow directors, I am very happy to welcome Michele to the Stornoway board. She brings to us a broad range of experiences in organisational development and corporate oversight at the most senior of levels, as well as specific familiarity with the Quebec mining and mining services sectors. We would like to thank Doug for his enthusiastic participation with the Stornoway board over the last four years and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
