'Glimpz-17 ‘, the annual exhibtion at which students of the graduating batch of the 3 Year Degree Programme conducted by the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Mumbai display their final projects opened at the institute’s campus last week. The exhibition was inaugurated by leading jewellers, Sunil Datwani, Chief Guest and  Ashraf Motiwala, Guest of Honour. Other guests present on the occasion included Sanjay Kothari, Director IIGJ Mumbai and Veena Wadkar, ED GJEPC.

This is the 11th consecutive year that the event is being held to showcase the work created by the students on a particular theme. This year the students were asked to create collections around “Art-ism” which means an art movement. The theme was selected by the students in order to encourage creative expression and to shift the focus of creating value through design.

The two chief guests personally visited and interacted with each of the students giving them encouragement as well as feedback on their work. The collections are prepared after the students undergo a three month internship where they are placed at different leading jewellery companies.
