Tango’s Oena Project Realises Average Price of US$ 1,198/Ct in Third Quarter

Tango Mining Ltd providing an update for the period of March 1 to May 31, 2019 (third quarter/Q3) for its various activities, said that its Oena project (where Bluedust 7 is the mining and processing contractor) in the  Republic of South Africa, saw an increase of 19,490 tons mined above the previous quarter.

 “A total of 190 diamonds totalling 333.25 carats were placed on tender at Kimberley or sold to the state trader,” the Company reported. “The average price of sold carats was US$1,198 per carat.”

Included in this assortment was a 20.9 carat diamond which sold at an average price of US$3,807 per carat; and a 5.28 carat stone that sold at an average of C$7,730 per carat.

The Company’s African Star Minerals (ASM) in a joint venture (with Oryx Mining (Pty) Ltd (Oryx) and Hall of Diamonds CC (HoD)) commenced production on May 17, 2019.

Three stones from this project, totalling 34.45 carats, were placed on tender at Kimberley or sold to the state trader. “The average price of sold carats was US$2,973 per carat,” the Company reported. “This includes a 29.31 carat diamond which sold at US$3,224 per carat.”

The Company is also carrying out trial mining at the Moquita Project in the Republic of Angola; and has plans for exploration at the Mano River Project in the Republic of Liberia, where the transfer of 100% of the mineral exploration license (MEL) to Tango Mining (Liberia) was concluded successfully. At the latter site, exploration in expected to commence in the first quarter of 2020.
