The Theme of Technology to Take Centrestage at 7TH IDWI In Israel

The 7th International Diamond Week in Israel (IDWI),   slated to be held in Israel from  February 5 – 7, 2018, will focus on new technology   and its role  in upgrading the diamond industry, today and in the future, the organisers Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), announced recently.

Further, IDE said it has planned “to unveil a series of groundbreaking initiatives” that   “will make an important impact on the diamond industry in Israel and worldwide”.

Having decided earlier this year that its direction for the future would be “to harness technology for the advancement diamond industry”, IDE had launched a B2B e-commerce platform GET DIAMONDS, described as “the new internet marketing centre for bourse members and the first Diamond Innovation Center for technological start-ups in the diamond industry”, as the first step towards its goal. Most recently, IDE announced  the upcoming launch of a digital currency backed by diamonds.

IDE President Yoram Dvash commented: “Technology is revolutionising the way we live and the way we do business. At the next International Diamond Week we’ll reveal how IDE is using these technologies to transform the diamond industry.”

IDE reported that  registration is “proceeding briskly” since it was opened last week. As a result,  several  hundreds of buyers from around the world are expected to participate in IDWI 2018.

“Hundreds of Israeli and international companies will be exhibiting both polished and rough goods,” IDE said. “Moreover, participants will receive three complimentary nights at a local hotel.”

IDWI 2018 Chairman Ezra Boaron said, “The seventh edition of IDWI will be even more exciting than before. The show will offer great business opportunities and fun as well. Register now to ensure your place.”
