Visitor Registration Commences for BDB’s First-ever Bharat Diamond Week in April

Registration of visitors for the first-ever Bharat Diamond Week to be held at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in Mumbai from April 23-25, 2018 has commenced. The BDB is expecting nearly 4,000 visitors to attend the three-day event where more than 200 Indian companies are expected to exhibit a wide selection of polished diamonds.

Another highlight of the trade show wil be a display of synthetic diamond detection equipment with competitively priced services, together with specially organised seminars and meetings on the issue of synthetics. This segment of the event will add value for attendees, the organisers said.

The BDB stated that the aim of the Week is to create connections between international trade members and members of the bourse. BDB Vice-President Mehul Shah, who is heading the Diamond Week project said, "We believe that there will be around 4,000 visitors. The interest in the Bharat Diamond Week continues to rise far beyond our original projections and this is extremely positive."

Shah also said that the bourse plans to hold such shows on a regular basis as there is a “very clear demand from both exhibitors and visitors”.

For the first edition of the show, the BDB is looking at offering complimentary hotel stay to over 200 foreign buyers, he added.

BDB President Anoop Mehta urged trade visitors to register at the earliest to avoid disappointment, stating that while preference will be given to those from WFDB-affiliated bourses, other members of the trade from across the world are also welcome.

Mehta said: " We believe it is critical for the Bharat Diamond Bourse and for the international trade that an event such as this is held. The industry is facing various challenges and we are delighted to be able to organize an event that we believe will lead to great connections.”

In the lead up to the Week, there will be a cricket tournament from April 8-15 featuring 12 teams, with players from the following companies and organisations: Asian Star, Ankit Gems, Bharat Diamond Bourse, Mahendra Brothers, Blue Star, Palanpur Samaj Kendra, Jewelex, Venus Jewel, Shree Ramkrishna Exports, GIA, Rosy Blue and Jasani.
