12th JAS Jewellery Show Opens in Jaipur

The 12th edition of the annual jewellery show organised by the Jewellers Association of Jaipur, JAS ’18 was inaugurated this morning by Chief Guest Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry Shri CR Chaudhary. Also present on the occasion were Shri Ram Charan Bohra, MP of Jaipur, Shri Ashok Lahoti, Mayor of Jaipur, Shri Mohan Lal Gupta, MLA, GJEPC Chairman Shri Pramod Agrawal and other leading members of the trade.

JAS ’18, which runs from today till September 3, 2018 is being held at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) at Sitapura in Jaipur and has over 225 exhibitors showcasing their jewellery and gemstones across more than 500 booths. Over 7,000 trade visitors are expected to attend from many countries including the USA, Hong-Kong, Thailand, Japan, Germany, Dubai and China as well as from various parts of the country.

Since it is a B2B and B2C show, total number of visitors, including end consumers, is likely to cross 30,000, the organisers said.

Speaking at the inauguration, the GJEPC Chairman outlined a number of steps being taken to boost the small and medium enterprises in the jewellery manufacturing sector through skill development, training institutes, setting up of Common Facility Centres, Jewellery Parks and Cluster development initiatives especially in smaller towns and cities across the country.
