ALROSA Appoints Alexey Ivanov as Director of its Vladivostok Branch

PJSC ALROSA has appointed Alexey Ivanov as Director of its Vladivostok Branch opened in 2016. He will head the activities there and be in charge of business development, the search for new clients and the expansion of the Eurasian Diamond Center (EDC), the Company announced.

Alexey Ivanov was previously head of Arcos Diamonds Israel Ltd and the ALROSA representative office in Israel.  With extensive experience in the diamond industry, Ivanov earlier worked in ALROSA’s Security Department in Mirny and was also a member of the Company’s managerial staff based in its Moscow office as Aide to the President of Almazy Rossii – Sakha. He was previously also head of the Administrative Office of Vice Chairman of the Council of the Federation and was the Aide to the Member of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Shtyrov.  Ivanov is a Class 3 Active State Advisor of the Russian Federation.

He is a graduate of Sverdlov Law Institute with a Diploma in Jurisprudence.

The ALROSA branch in Vladivostok was established with the purpose of developing the Eurasian Diamond Centre in the territory of the Free Port of Vladivostok. “The branch sold the first rough diamonds at the EDC in August-September last year,” ALROSA said. “Total diamond sales amounted to US$ 21.6 million from January to May this year. Before year-end, projected sales will go up to not less than US$70 million.”

Delineating the operational tasks before the branch, ALROSA elaborated: “Apart from increasing ALROSA’s sales, the branch is responsible for developing regional coverage, and expanding cooperation with clients from Asia-Pacific, first of all, China, Japan, Singapore, and other countries. The branch is also in charge of the search for potential partners and investors to set up manufacturing facilities for the use of industrial grade diamonds and manufacture of equipment for diamond cutting industry.”
