ALROSA’s Revenue for Vladivostok Auction Touches US$ 17 Mn

At an  international auction held in Vladivostok from  June 18-29, 2018,  of special size (+ 10.8 carats) rough diamonds, ALROSA received a total revenue of US$ 17 million from the sale of 121 gem-quality diamonds with a total weight of 2,000 carats.

Particitipating in the auction were companies from Belgium, China, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Russia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United States of America (USA).  Of the prospective buyers, 36 firms were successful in placing  winning bids.

“The results of the last auction once again confirm that Vladivostok today is a successfully developing centre of the Russian diamond business,” said Evgeny Agureev,   Member of the Executive Committee, and Director of the USO ALROSA. “Our auctions here gather clients from different countries, including China and the United States, leaders in the consumption of diamond jewellery. The auction in June concluded with a good premium to the starting price, which was exceeded by 1.8 times.”

The ALROSA branch in Vladivostok was established in 2016 in order to  develop    the Eurasian Diamond Centre in the territory of the Free Port of Vladivostok. The first sale of rough diamonds made by the branch at the EDC was in  August-September of 2016.

The total revenue received by ALROSA from the sale of diamonds at tenders and auctions in Vladivostok in 2017, exceeded US$ 70 million. 

The Company has announced plans to hold two  more auctions in Vladivostok this year – one in September and one in November.
