Bharat Diamond Bourse installs Indian National Flag Mast

The new 118 feet high Flag Mast installed by the Bharat Diamond Bourse in its premises in Bandra Kurla Complex was inaugurated today at a special ceremony where Shri. Kirtibhai Doshi, the senior most diamond merchant in Mumbai hoisted an Indian National Flag admeasuring 30’ X 20’ in the presence of Chief Guest Smt. Amrita Devendra Fadanvis, wife of Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

Shri Anoop Mehta, President of Bharat Diamond Bourse, Shri Bharat Shah, President of Mumbai Diamond Merchants Association; and Shri Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman of  The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, members of the Management Committee of the Bourse and prominent diamond traders in Mumbai were also present on the occasion.  

This newly installed Flag mast is the second highest in Mumbai. The National Tricolor will be kept flying round the clock all the days of the year, the BDB said in a release and proper illumination of the Flag Mast would be ensured at night.

The Mumbai Police Band added a special flair and grace to the occasion with a selection of patriotic music, while the Security and Fire Safety contingent of BDB was also present at the salutes.

As the tri-coloured Indian national flag signifies strength, peace and growth of the country, BDB signifies rich culture of Indian craftsmanship in the Indian gems and jewellery sector that has established itself globally.”

Shri Praveenshankar Pandya, Chairman, GJEPC, said,”It is a proud moment to all of us at BDB. The waving flag symbolises a feeling of pride, gratitude and honesty amongst the BDB members.”
