Canadian Diamond Miners Unite for Charity Auction

The Northwest Territories’ three diamond mines – Rio Tinto’s Diavik, De Beers Group and Mountain Province Diamonds’ Gahcho Kué, and Burgundy Diamond Mines’ Ekati – have joined forces to create a unique, one-of-a-kind pendant. This stunning piece of jewellery, featuring diamonds from all three mines, will be auctioned off at the 2024 MAX Awards on 28th November in Yellowknife to benefit the Yellowknife Community Fundraising Club’s Adopt-A-Family program.

The pendant, designed by Adamas Diamonds, is set in 18-karat white gold and features a caribou antler design, symbolising the northern origin of the diamonds. The three diamonds – an Ekati, a Gahcho Kué, and a Diavik – are expertly set in the pendant, creating a truly special piece of jewellery with an appraised retail replacement value of over C$12,000.

All proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Adopt-A-Family program, which provides gifts, groceries, and other essentials to local families in need during the holiday season.

Representatives from each of the three mines expressed their excitement about the collaboration and the positive impact it will have on the community. They emphasised the importance of giving back and supporting local initiatives, particularly during the holiday season.
