Chinese jewellery retailer Chow Tai Fook Jewellery made an entry into the prestigious list of Asia's Fab 50 Companies released by Forbes magazine last week. This is the first time that the company has entered the list.

The Hong Kong headquartered jewellery chain is the world’s largest jeweller by stock market value with a Market Cap of $15.78 bn in May. It has over 2,100 shops across Greater China, Malaysia and Singapore. Earlier this year it bought U.S. diamond manufacturer Hearts on Fire for $150 million.  However, sales on the mainland fell 24% in the quarter ended June 30.

On a global list covering all industries, the company is ranked at 1046 in Sales, 678 in Profit and 715 in Market value.
