Christie’s Online Jewellery Sale Totals $5.18 Million

Christie’s first jewellery auction of 2022, Jewels Online, held from 24th January to 9th February, achieved a total of $5,183,500 with 131% hammer above low estimate and 96% sold by lot. The sale received record participation with the highest number of bidders for any New York Jewels online sale, Christie’s said. There was global participation with registered bidders from 28 countries.

Strong prices were achieved for diamonds, including the top lot of the sale, a diamond ring of 11.46 carats (seen above), which was offered without reserve and achieved $300,000.

Further notable results include an emerald-cut diamond ring of 10.31 carats, which sold for $237,500; square emerald-cut diamond earrings of 5.02 and 5.02 carats, which fetched $212,500; and a round brilliant-cut diamond ring of 5.21 carats, also offered without reserve, which achieved $150,000.

The diamond ring of 11.46 carats realised $300,000.
