DIAMONDS ALROSA’s Forthcoming Polished Auctions to Include Coloured Diamonds

DIAMONDS ALROSA, the Russian miner’s cutting and polishing division and one of the largest diamond manufacturers in that country, will auction polished diamonds manufactured by the Company during the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair in September.

Included in the auction will be certified fancy coloured diamonds, including those with yellow, green, orange and purple hues; apart from  large colourless diamonds.

Two auctions have been planned: the first – featuring the fancy coloured and large colourless diamonds – will be held from September 13-17; the second auction scheduled to be held between September19-22 will offer diamonds of small and medium sizes as well as brown diamonds.

“We’ve chosen this assortment in accordance with demand on the Asian market,” said Pavel Vinikhin, Director of DIAMONDS ALROSA. “Large diamonds of more than 5 carats are very desirable for premium segment jewellery, and diamonds of less than 1 carat for the mass market. In addition, we will, for the first time, present on the auction the full range of fancy colours of diamonds, mined by the JSC Almazy Anabara.”

ALROSA also said that during the Hong Kong Show, DIAMONDS ALROSA will display The Dynasty, a unique collection of diamonds, to potential clients. “The collection will be sold at a special online auction scheduled for November 2017,” ALROSA announced.

As earlier reported, the five diamonds included in The Dynasty collection were cut from a 179-carat rough diamond, and have been named after iconic dynasties of Russia. The main gem of this collection, The Dynasty, is a 51.38-carat diamond, 57-facet traditional round brilliant-cut diamond, with a grading of Triple Excellent, D, VVS1.
