DMCC Receives Senior Angolan Diamond Delegation Headed by SODIAM President

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman of DMCC recently received a senior diamond trade delegation, headed by Eugénio Bravo da Rosa, President of SODIAM, which is the marketing arm of Endiama E.P., Angola’s state-owned diamond mining company.

While there, the delegation was taken on a tour of the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) situated in Almas Tower. The DDE is the only bourse in the Middle East affiliated with the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB).  

The delegation and DMCC representatives also discussed “Dubai’s position as one of the world’s leading diamond trading hubs”, DMCC said.

The DMCC Executive Chairman stressed that Angolan diamonds “are key to the global precious stones market” and outlined the role of the DDE as an “increasingly important partner to the international trade” due to the strong performance of the tenders, auctions and sales taking place there.

The delegation was also briefed on the upcoming Dubai Diamond Conference (DDC) scheduled to be held at the DMCC headquarters on 26 September 2019, and extended an invitation to all present, to attend.
