Gemfields Releases Three Short Films Narrating Ruby-Inspired Stories

Gemfields last week held an exclusive premiere in London to release three short films narrating ruby-inspired tales.

These films were founded on the Company’s “core belief” that there is “A Story in Every Gemstone”. The particular aspects of the ruby which were elaborated – one in each film – were passion, protection and prosperity.

Celebrating its global expansion and presence, Gemfields chose talent from regions across the world to feature in these films -- actresses Sophie Cookson and Aditi Rao Hydari and model Grace Guozhi.

The films, directed by award winning filmmaker Leonora Lonsdale, explore the three motifs enumerated above, and are set in a contemporary context. While each film follows an individual story-line, collectively they speak volumes of the woman of today and her many qualities.

All three films, which have been released globally, will be featured in 15, 30 and 60 second spots. They will be supported by a social media campaign.

The films feature jewellery by Gyan, Fabergé and Chelsy Davy’s new brand, Aya.

Gemfields’ CEO Ian Harebottle said: “Rubies have been renowned for their magical properties since the beginning of civilisation.  As a leading supplier of responsibly sourced coloured gemstones, we wanted to explore how these beautiful and mysterious gemstones resonate with women today.   The result is three very special films, each capturing a unique moment in every woman’s life in which she feels most in touch with her true self, whether that be in love, in following her own path, or in her commitment to her creative and professional dream.”
