GJC Begins Nomination Process for its National Jewellery Awards 2018

The  All India Gem and Jewellery Domestic Council (GJC), has commenced the process of nominations for its  National Jewellery Awards (NJA) 2018.  

“The awards are to honour the rich Indian artistic, creative designs in the gems and jewellery industry and the business & marketing acumen of the jewellery manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers of India,” GJC said while making the announcement.

The Awards, seen as amongst the most  prestigious ones for the Gems and Jewellery sector will have 36 awards in five categories this year.

These   include  Jewellery Awards, Excellence Awards, Store Awards,  Designer & Artisan Awards   and Student of the Year Award. Two  new categories have been introduced in this edition of the awards – one  for CSR Initiative and the other for Woman Entrepreneur.

“The NJA 2018 Awards will consist of the most credible jury comprising top designers, professionals and celebrities,” GJC said. “Ernst and Young are the process advisors to the awards this year, adding scrutiny and secrecy to the awards, thus ensuring an unbiased and transparent process.”

The awards will be distributed a   glittering function on February 11,  2019 at Mumbai.  CNBC Awaaz is the broadcast partner. 

Nitin Khandelwal, Chairman, GJC  commented: “India, since long, has been known for its rich designs and talented artisans who have been the backbone of  the gems and jewellery sector. Every region is famous for its specific designs which have found profound interest from buyers across the globe. In the 8th year of the  NJA awards, on behalf of GJC, we urge jewellers from across the country to come forward and enroll themselves for this prestigious awards ceremony.”

Anantha Padmanabhan, Vice Chairman - GJC and Convenor - NJA, said that the awards create  a larger platform and present significant  opportunities for  members and Industry.  “NJA ensures that every stakeholder from the entire value chain of gems and jewellery industry will enjoy exposure and recognition for going above and beyond,” he said. “In turn, we hope that initiatives such as this will encourage the industry to unite and continue to strive for excellence and deliver quality.”

Ashish Pethe, Co- Convenor - NJA said, that the award is all about honouring the excellence and innovation in jewellery business. “Competition is evolving, and, in its eight edition, NJA has a lot of new awards and categories,” Pethe stated. “We strongly believe every part of the gems and jewellery industry deserves recognition for their hard work. Therefore, we are providing a chance also for Unique Jewellery, Best Stores, Innovative Designs, Artisans and Students amongst many others.”

The awards   are open to  jewellers pan India and the last date for submission of nominations is January 10, 2019.
