A delegation of the GJEPC represented gem and jewellery exporters at an Interactive Session on issues faced by EOUs and SEZs organised by the government in association with Export Promotion Council for EOUs and SEZs in Jaipur yesterday.

The meet was chaired by Dr L.B. Singhal, Zonal Development Commissioner, Noida SEZ. Senior government officials including Shri S.C. Agarwal, Commissioner of Customs, Jaipur, Shri Virendra Singh, Jt DGFT, Jaipur, Shri Vijay Gupta, vice president NSDL and others were also present on the occasion.

The issues raised by the delegation were

• Permission for reverse job work facility for SEZ jewellery units
• Allowing sale from SEZ to DTA
• E-commerce related issues
• NSDL issues like mapping of data to ICEGATE, charges, helpdesk issues
• Single window clearance of hazardous import
• Simplification of export documents for reducing transaction time and cost
• SEZ units to be allowed to sublet or rent
