GJEPC Hosts India Pavilion at Vicenzaoro September 2019

The India Pavilion at the Vicenzaoro September held a special event yesterday to welcome Shri Binoy George, Consul-General of India in Milan. The official addressed the Indian jewellers participating in the show, focusing on Indo-Italian trade ties.

Organised under the banner of The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), the Pavilion comprises eight Indian jewellery companies.

Earlier, the Pavilion also welcomed a 30-member delegation from Iran, who expressed their interest in strengthening ties with the Indian industry.

The five-day show opened on September 5 with a discussion on ‘Spreading Sustainability’ held under the VISIO.NEXT round table initiative held at the show. Taking part in the discussion were Simonetta Di Tommaso – Ministry of Economic Development, Will Kahn - Market Director for Jewellery at Moda Operandi and Contributing Editor for Town and Country Magazine, Cristina Squarcialupi - Vice President of UNOAERRE, Matteo Ward - CEO and CMO WRÅD, Creative Director WRÅD Communications. The round table was moderated by Sole 24 Ore editor, Fabio Tamburini.

The show also housed the “Lab Square", a special location where international labs are providing opinions and identification of gemstones and diamonds for free. The labs present are Danat, Bahrain; IGI, Antwerp; IGI, Milan; GIA; Borsa Diamanti, Italy; ICA Gem Lab.

Another highlight of the show was the three Gem Talks held at the Gem Square, where expert gemmologists and senior representatives of industry bodies spoke on issues related to different gemstones that have been in the limelight. The talks covered Coral, Diamonds and Zircon.

The show concludes on September 11, 2019.
