GJEPC Hosts Seminar for Jewellers in Delhi

The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s (GJEPC) Delhi Regional Office hosted an interactive seminar for jewellers in East Delhi on September 22, 2018 covering various aspects related to export promotion, strengthening the MSME export segment and detection of synthetic diamonds. Dr. P.G. Rao, Director- MSME Ministry was the Chief Guest. The seminar was held in association with GIA.

After welcoming the Chief Guest and all the jewellers present, K.K. Duggal, Director-Policy, made a detailed presentation on GJEPC, it's activities, on the Indian Gems and Jewellery industry, insights into the jewellery sector in the northern region, current export trends etc.

Dr Rao then gave valuable information about the various schemes/initiatives being run by the Government of India, including popular trade schemes such as Mudra Yojana, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Scheme, Stand Up India Scheme, Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme, Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme etc. He assured full support and cooperation to the MSME segment in running their business operations in a completely hassle-free manner.

Subsequently, Kashish Sachdev, Instructor GIA India made a detailed presentation on GIA, it's laboratory activities and various educational programmes being run across the globe, as well as the different initiatives being taken by it to detect and segregate synthetic diamonds from natural diamonds.

Finally, Ritika Sahni, IIGJ Instructor made a detailed presentation on IIGJ, the various courses on jewellery designing, manufacturing, gemmology and other subjects being run by the institute and its efforts in imparting skill development training programmes to all aspirants from the gems and jewellery industry in the northern region.
