The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) Surat yesterday launched an eight-week long training programme in ‘Diamond Polishing’ under the banner of its ‘Kaushalyam’ series. The course has been designed particularly for members of the existing workforce who are already working in planning, Galaxy QC and other departments.   

The participants will be guided through the entire process of polishing, working with bruted/laser 4P processed rough diamonds. They would also learn how to cut and polish the Crown, Pavilion, Girdle of a round brilliant cut diamond by putting facets etc.

Training would also be provided in the cutting & polishing of different facets, use of types of tools and a scaife in cutting and polishing process, etc.

Over 20 aspirants from the industry have joined the course which is being conducted by GJEPC’s ‘Knowledge Partner’, Indian Diamond Institute (IDI).
