GJEPC Team Addresses MSME Meet in Ratnagiri

Representatives of The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) addressed a meeting of jewellers in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra on January 19, 2020 to encourage them to develop a plan to enable the district to enter the export market for jewellery. The meet was co-hosted by GJEPC, Mumbai Swarnakar Sangh and Sant Narhari Sonar Sangh.

Mithilesh Pandey, Director, Membership spoke about the GJEPC’s aims and activities and the advantages that accrue to jewellers who become members of this apex exporters body for the sector. He outlined schemes such as the Parichay Card, the Swasthya Kosh and Swasthya Ratna medical insurance schemes for artisans from the industry, the upcoming Jewellery Park in Navi Mumbai and others. He also spoke about projects such as the forthcoming IIJS, Buyer-Seller Meets, the CFCs, etc and various skill development programmes conducted by the GJSCI, and explained the process of applying for government financial assistance for participation in exhibitions within India and abroad.

Council representative Mrunali EIle provided detailed information on Mudra Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana and explained in detail the process and documents required for availing bank finance and loans, interest subvention, subsidies available for traders and manufacturers, etc.

A representative of Edelweiss gave details regarding the Health Insurance Scheme.

About 100 artisans attended and many of them signed up for some of the different schemes that were presented.
