A team of senior government officials from the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, comprising Shri Vipul Bansal, Secretary, and Shri Vivek, Second Secretary, to Hon’ble Minister of Finance Government of India, recently visited the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Udupi.

They were accompanied by members of the local administration and the Implementation Committee, including Assistant District Commissioner Udupi District Shri Sadashiv Prabhu and Deputy Secretary Jilla panchayat Shri Kiran Padnekar.

A report on the activities of the institute was presented by the IIGJ and GJEPC officials and the development and functioning of the institute was discussed.

President Udupi Jewellers Association, Nagaraj Acharya; Joint Secretary, Udupi Jewellers Association, Girish Shet; and Chairman of Karnataka Jewellers Federation, Jaya Acharya also took part in the deliberations.
