Gemological Science International (GSI) has launched a new satellite laboratory in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, bringing same-day certification services to the region's burgeoning jewellery market. The 1,200 sq. ft. facility, inaugurated on 24 January 2025, by GSI India Managing Director Ramit Kapur, is equipped with advanced technology, including the Trusure series by Mindron & GSI, to provide rapid and reliable certification for jewellery, diamonds, and gemstones.

The move comes in response to the increasing demand for faster certification services in Madhya Pradesh. While the state traditionally sources jewellery from Mumbai, Surat, and Jaipur, a rise in local manufacturing and trading has created a need for accessible, high-quality certification. GSI's presence aims to support this growing industry.

The Indore lab will offer services previously unavailable to local jewellers, including advanced screening for gemstone treatment and polki jewellery certification. The Trusure diamond testing equipment will also empower jewellers to trade with greater confidence.

Kapur said, "The rise in customer demand for customised jewellery has spurred a shift toward local manufacturing in Madhya Pradesh. GSI’s Indore lab offers same-day gemmological services with unmatched turnaround times, empowering jewellers to meet market demands efficiently while ensuring consumer trust."

The lab will host workshops for retail sales teams on diamonds and gemstones, focusing on advanced sales strategies. GSI will also offer sessions for consumers, empowering them to make informed purchasing decisions.
