Hari Krishna Exports Pvt Ltd., one of India’s leading manufacturers of cut and polished diamonds, hosted the Kisna Diamond Marathon late December 2019 at BKC, Bandra (E).

“The aim of this event was to promote the noble cause of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’,” the Company explained in a press release.  

At this, the fifth edition of the marathon, the Company successfully registered more than 8,000 runners.

The chief guests present at the marathon were Ujjwal Nikkam, Public Prosecutor; Madhukar Pandey, Joint Commissioner (Traffic);  Kapil Arora, Marathon Runner and Author; and   Manisha Gupta, CNBC Awaaz Editor.

Hari Krishna Exports is the only company in the diamond industry to host a marathon every year in order to encourage fitness and the cause of ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. The amount   collected at the event will be utilised for this cause, the Company said.

In pursuit of its involvement with the campaign, Hari Krishna has already placed bins and sign boards in various areas in Mumbai. Moreover, to enhance the cleanliness drive, Hari Krishna Group has built toilets across many villages in Maharashtra to create awareness about ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ amongst the people.

Hari Krishna Group also organised practice and diet sessions for the runners thrice a week, to encourage running amongst employees and participants. The marathon also witnessed great participation from the diamond industry. Winners of the marathon were bestowed with exciting prizes worth Rs. 4,00,000.
