KGK Group Buys Stake in New York Jewellery Manufacturer Unique Settings

India-headquartered KGK Group has bought a stake in New York based jewellery wholesaler-manufacturer Unity Settings. The new collaboration aims at optimally serving their patrons with a wider range of services, the two companies said in a joint announcement at the recent JCK Las Vegas show which concluded in the US earlier this week.

No details of the terms of the deal were disclosed by the two companies.

The KGK Group is an over 100-year old company that has evolved into a global ‘mines-to-brands’ gem and jewelleryconglomerate with a vertically integrated presence across the entire spectrum of mining, sourcing, manufacturing and distributing coloured stones, diamonds and jewellery. It already owns brands such as Martin Flyer, Gregg Ruth and Entice.

Unique settings has a facility based in the heart of New York, and was amongst the first manufacturers to pioneer the just-in-time concept.It has a workforce of about 200 employees,andoffers a spectrum of services with the ability to deliver a tailored product in 5-7 business days.

Its start-to-finish manufacturing set-up has enabled it to become a one-stop shop solution for the retail industry, with expertise ranging from a large collection of bridal jewellery and wedding bands to other flexible product linesand customisation services.

According to related reports, no major changes in the structure or operations are planned immediately, though it is likely that some of the back-end functions at Unity Settings may be relocated to India.
