Lucapa Completes First Sale of H2 2018, Proceeds US$ 2 Million

Lucapa Diamond Company announced that it has completed its first sale of alluvial diamonds for H2 2018 from the Lulo Diamond Project in Angola, with gross proceeds reaching US$ 2 million.

The company runs the Lulo project with its partners Empresa Nacional de Diamantes E.P. (Endiama) and Rosas & Petalas.

The parcel for sale comprised 2,527 carats, with the gross sale proceeds of US$2.0 million representing an average price per carat of US$800.

Stephen Wetherall, MD, said that the July sale excluded four large white Specials and a pink coloured Special which have been held for sale later this year. They will be sold subsequently, the Company said, along with a 114 carat diamond recovered earlier this month. Deep boiling of this latter stone has confirmed it is a Type IIa top-colour white diamond.
