Damas Jewellery, one of the leading jewellery brands in the Middle East, has announced the appointment of luxury industry veteran Luc Perramond as chairman and CEO, effective from April 20 to steer the company through “these unprecedented times”.

Perramond takes over the mantle from Damas’ first female CEO, Asil Attar appointed in February 2019 and Hamdi Chatti, who was appointed as Damas’ executive chairman in December 2018, media reports said.

Damas made the announcement in a statement released today and said that it is confident that, with Perramond’s “exceptional leadership and guidance”, the company will “soar to new heights”. 

During his over 30 year-long career within the luxury industry, with specialization in watches and jewellery, Perramond has held top management positions with several renowned international brands, such as Deputy CEO of Tag Heuer, President of H. Stern Jewellers, CEO of Hermès Watches and, more recently, President and CEO of Ralph Lauren Watches and Jewellery. He later established his own strategic management consultancy firm within the luxury and fashion industry, the statement said.
