Running for ‘Swachh Bharat’ - Hari Krishna Group Organises Marathon

The Hari Krishna (HK) Group recently organised the Kisna Diamond Marathon – for  21 km, 10m and 6 km runs.

Shubham Joshi, the  youngest marathon runner and Brand Ambassador of Global Run 2017,  flagged off the marathon at 5:30 am, 6:00 am and 6:30 am. 

The marathon, held on December 3, 2017 in BKC, Mumbai,  saw the participation of more than 3000 persons  -- including HK employees.

“The runners were geared up not only because it was a sports event, but it was an event with a social cause,” the Company said in a press release. “The roads of BKC, Mumbai were graced by some of the finest athletes from across the State along with other running enthusiasts who put their best foot forward to achieve their desired goals.”

Ghanshyam Dholakia,  Founder of Hari Krishna Exports Pvt. Ltd. said, “This is the third  time we have organised Kisna Diamond Marathon;  but we have had over 3000 participants for the very first time. I’m overwhelmed with the response we have received. It has been an incredible event and a great run for us. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is launched as a responsibility of each and every Indian citizen to make this country a ‘Swachh’ country. Hari Krishna Group has supported this initiative since its inception. The money generated through this event will go towards Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.”

At the conclusion of the marathon, an awards ceremony was held to celebrate the  spirit of sportsmanship. Chief guests at the award ceremony were  Ujjwal Nikam- Public Prosecutor;  Aniket Nikam   and  Krishna Prakash (IPS), both Triathlon Ironmen. While the winners went home with beautiful diamond jewellery from Kisna, HK employees who won, bagged bicycles.
